After a three-decade fight with Parkinson’s, Michael J. Fox …

He spoke softly, but every word carried the weight of three decades. Michael J. Fox didn’t hide behind optimism this time; he let the exhaustion show. He described waking up in a body that feels less like his own, the simple act of walking becoming a negotiation with gravity and pain. The surgery to remove a benign spinal tumor left him struggling to stand, then came the falls, the fractures, the quiet moments where he wondered how many hits a person can take.

Yet, in the same breath, he refused to surrender the part of himself Parkinson’s can’t touch. He talked about his family’s laughter, the foundation’s work, the strangers who say his courage kept them going. He admitted he’s scared of what’s coming, but more afraid of wasting what’s left. As long as he can still lift his voice, he said, the fight is not over.
