Gloria invited Theodore Sloan, the lawyer who had handled her and Walter’s legal affairs for years, to review documents brought to her home by Bianca and Kevin. Before signing anything, she insisted that Theodore read every page aloud so she could fully understand what was being proposed.

The documents included a power of attorney that would give Kevin control of Gloria’s finances, a plan to sell her home at a very low price, and paperwork for a care facility she had not agreed to enter. Gloria then shared notes she had written after overhearing an earlier conversation between Bianca and Kevin.

She also played a recording made by her friend Harriet, which captured the pair discussing their plans. With the information laid out, Theodore presented a new will and trust that Gloria had arranged to protect her home, finances, and future care decisions.

Kevin later returned alone and expressed regret, while Bianca did not return. Although Gloria knew trust would take time to rebuild, she remained in control of her own life and continued her familiar Sunday tradition of making banana bread, keeping her notes as a reminder to document important matters.
