The Secret Behind Her Return

After fifteen years of silence, Elena returned to her eldest daughter’s wedding wearing an expensive dress and a smile that seemed almost too perfect. She had abandoned her husband and their six little girls years earlier, leaving behind a nine-month-old baby and five children too young to understand why their mother had disappeared. Now, standing among the wedding guests, Elena claimed she had never wanted to leave them. She insisted their father had kept her away, preventing her from watching her daughters grow up.

When Chloe announced her wedding, Elena suddenly appeared, claiming she wanted to make things right. Chloe welcomed her, hoping perhaps that her mother had finally changed. But she also prepared for the possibility that Elena would rewrite the past once again. Her father stood quietly near the edge of the room, looking as though he would rather endure another fifteen years of blame than embarrass his daughter on her wedding day. Chloe watched him for a moment, then stood up and reached for a small box she had kept hidden beneath the gift table. What she pulled out next would silence the entire reception..CONTINUE READING PART 2
